“ SORRY, MIZZY. ” She could feel the mizutsune kit’s despair, earning him a small stroke on his shoulderblade as Mari attempted to comfort him. “ Your fur was comfy enough. It’s just been a long while since I slept outside of a bed or a sleeping bag. ” Good thing she was just about as tough as the floor they slept on, at least.
Mari turns towards the way they came, first. With all intents and purposes, she’s still considering trying to go back the way they came. If it were just her, she would have, even at the risk of being attacked by an angry aknosom or some other monster. But she had Nicole and Mizuno’s safeties to consider, and climbing up a ragged set of stairs that looked like they could collapse at any moment would be more difficult for them than it would be for her.
“ We probably should just continue on, and see what this sublevel holds. ” She turns around. In the other direction is a hallway, vaguely illuminated by the sunlight peering through cracks in the ceiling. It’s dank and musty down here, but that might be a good sign; they might be in the direction of the waterways.
… Ugh. She hated the thought, but they might have to go with Nicole’s idea after all. “ I’ll lead the way. Mizuno can flank the group. Nic, you’re in the middle. If anything’s ahead, I’ll at least be the one to take the brunt of it. ”
Bravely, she continues forward. The hall is long and foreboding, but eventually, it opens up. Unfortunately the resulting area brings Mari to an impasse. “ Aww, crap. ”
Multiple branching rooms and hallways, like a maze of catacombs. This was going to be tricky. “ Whoever planned this place out was a really shitty person. ”
"…?“ Nicole wanted to protest, but she knew Mari had a point. It…still didn’t sit right with her that she was so intent on being the only one to fight or deal with problems as they arose. They were in no place to argue about anything, and while Nicole was worried about Mari, especially since there were monsters here neither of them knew…
She knew she was even less qualified to handle something if it jumped out at them.
And if something came from behind, she could easily be picked off and they wouldn’t be able to get her in time. It made sense Mizuno act as a small shield.
He seemed to be in agreement with Mari, because he got right into place as instructed, looking to the two girls for them to start moving.
"Hm…well…I say we mark one of tha walls o’ th hall we go down. So if we end up back here, we know which way we already went. An’ which way we migh’ still need ta go down.”
As tricky as it could be, they needed to keep a cool head and keep moving. It’s with a small shake of her head as she walked up to one of the doors, and pressed an ear against it. Trying to hear through it and see if anything was on the other side.
"…Wanna try this room first? I cain’ hear nuffin’. So i’ migh’ be safe.“
“Someone has to make sure your nose doesn’t get stuck into book to long, Miss Navigator.” It was a playful remark. But one laced in concern for Nicole. As he passed along an apple that he may or may not snuck into his hand from his casual stroll across the bazaar. To scope out any info that could prove interesting on their trek. Hamza makes it a point to sit next to the young woman as he folds his arms on the table.
“Any luck finding what you needed in that book of yours?”
Sad to admit, Nicole had gotten completely lost in her book. She had been so absorbed in her book, she didn’t hear him coming, didn’t notice the apple, and only finally snapped out of it when he spoke up and addressed her. A rather dangerous perdicament, she wouldn’t have noticed someone who wished her ill until it was too late. Luckily, Hamza only wishes to tease her.
Blinking for a moment, as she sat there and registering what he said, she gave a bit of a sheepish smile. Putting down her book, she takes the apple and bites into it before giving a small nod.
"–Mhm. I found i’ in tha last chapter. Bu’…then I got curious an’ kept readin’. Did youse find wha’ youse needed?“
Was super late on taking meds so my mind and thoughts are more scrambled than those eggs my brother tried to make while high.
–Anyway! Like this post for Nic to show your muse some form of affection! Open to all my mutuals! If you’re a mumu, you know you gotta specify for whomst!
SILENCE PERVADES, prompting Mari to think. If this certainly wasn’t the the weirdest sleepover she’s ever had, then it was definitely somewhere in the top five. Sleep would be difficult for her, with the ebb and pull of her monsties’ emotions, all of them steadily growing more concerned as the hours crawled on. Ratha especially is anxious, and his presence comes and goes, as if he’s scouting the exterior of the ruins with fervor.
She can’t help but feel anxious, too. What if they couldn’t find a way out of here? Well, obviously there was one way they knew, though getting there was now risky, with a row of broken stairs and an aknosom between them. Neither did Mari want to put Nicole through the risk of having to leave behind her companion. Their options, as it turns out, were growing thin.
SHE FEELS NICOLE SHIFTand rest her head against her pauldron. For a moment, a rush of heat gathers in her face, causing a residual blush to form. Oh gosh, this was embarrassing. New, too. She should be used to this; Ena, Navirou, all the same—she’d had people sleep beside her before. Just never someone who she felt a crush toward. She wondered, did Nicole feel the same way? Were there feelings hidden somewhere in there as well, that the other just hadn’t expressed?
She exhales through her nose in thought. She had the temptation to ask, but she decides against it. She always decides against it. Maybe if it were her final moments, but she’s determined to keep all of them from dying here. Maybe someday, when they aren’t struggling to survive and Mari has figured all this out.
The rider had a lot of guts. But apparently, not the guts to admit her feelings. Not even to herself. Despite this, Mari relinquishes another sigh, and leans her head against Nicole’s. Mizuno’s fur is comfy.
Maybe she could try sleeping …
Daylight comes, and amazingly, Mari is not the first to wake. She managed to fall asleep for a few hours, but then proceeded to wake periodically for the rest of the night. Usually an early riser, the darkness throws her off and Nicole’s voice prompts her to stir.
“ Morning already? ” She grunts, and pulls herself to her feet to stretch. “ I feel like I slept on a rock … oh. ” Well, the floor wasn’t exactly a cushion.
Standing herself, Nicole took a moment to smooth out her hair as much as possible before tying it back up. This way, it’s out of her way, without the tension that a full ponytail gives her.
Mari’s comment about not sleeping the most comfortably earned a sympathetic smile from Nicole, and a rather indignant little huff from Mizuno. Here he is acting as both pillow and blanket for them! As much as he could, anyway. He was still growing, and would one day be fully comfortable. But for now, he’s trying. And at this moment, he’s pouting.
It’s hard to tell, but Nicole can at the very least.
"–Mizuno, tha floor is like rock. Not youse. Yer very soft, okay?“ Patting the monstie in an attempt to salve his little wounded pride in his fur, Nicole herself is trying to suppress her urge to laugh. Even in not so great times like this, laughter is good! It keeps the morale up.
Taking a step back, she gives a quick stretch before looking at their other exit. One way was back up broken and jagged stairs…which they could make it if they wanted to. But that unknown monster was still up there. Possibly. They’d rather not take the chance only to end up right back in the same spot. So it was better to just continue forward. Another look around, all the debris, cracks, holes, everything, and Nicole then gives a confirming nod before looking back to Mari.
”…I think…we probably cain’ go no lower than this. A’ leas’ fer righ’ now. So I think we’re on wha’ could be tha bottom. Which means we’d have ta start goin’ up soon enough. Like…if ya look in tha’ small hole over there under tha stone, ya see dirt. In tha’ hole, ya see more an’ more dirt. If there was anotha floor under us, we’d be seein’ inta tha’ instead. So I think we’re as low as we can go fer now.“
“ GET SOME REST, NIC. SLEEP WHILE YOU CAN. If ‘ya can. ” Her voice hinges on anxiety for a moment; Mari has slept in some pretty weird places, but in pitch blankness in the middle of the ruins without any of her friends or monsties is a new one. At least, whatever concern that lingered in the corner of her mind was comforted by the presence of another. She was still the one they’d have to rely on the most if anything emerged from the inky darkness, so Mari wagered she’d be sleeping in shifts.
At least Mizuno’s furry tail is comfortable, and the girls had each other’s company and closeness to stave off the nighttime chill. Once the two had finished eating, Mari snuffs out the match and stares skyward.
The only hint of moonlight is whatever manages to slip through the cracks and small holes in the floor above them. Not enough to illuminate the path. If Nicole desired, she could huddle up to the other rider for comfort and safety. Mari wouldn’t mind it.
It was going to be a long night.
"Don’ gotta tell me twice…“ Its with a rather exhausted yawn that she pulls her hair out of the twin ties, and leans back against Mizuno once more. A small thought and pause, and Nicole then scoots closer to Mari, resting her head against her. If nothing else, for both of their comfort. It’s a scary situation, and sometimes just being with someone else can make it significantly more tolerable. And for Nicole, knowing she’s got two loved ones who care about her wellbeing will help her find sleep just a little easier.
It’s broken sleep, not long enough for her to fully fall into the deeper sleeps that would probably worry Mari with how heavy her sleep can be as they switch shifts. Sure, Mari was telling her she didn’t have to, but it made her feel better knowing she could contribute in small ways by letting Mari rest without worry of something sneaking up on all of them. Nicole taking watch for a small while so Mari herself can sleep was the least she could do.
Mizuno himself was a light sleeper who woke every time one of them did, with gentle coaxing for him to go back to sleep and rest, as night slowly turned into day once more.
As day breaks, it’s Nicole who’s awake. She’s still tired, having woken Mari late on her shifts, just making sure she got extra sleep. With Mari being the one capable of fighting, she needed the rest more than Nicole did. So once again Nicole wakes her up, this time on time as agreed when they would get moving. Sitting up and looking down at her, she reaches to just gently shake her shoulder.
"Hey…Mari. Tha sun’s up. We gotta get movin’.”
Even with Mizuno beginning to wake up, he wouldn’t move until the girls did. He knew they were leaning on them for support, and he wanted to continue doing it. Plus, he wanted another five minutes of getting to lay down himself.
For a moment, his grasp on her tightened. He thought she intended to wriggle out of his grasp and leave his arms cold, but he realized with immense relief that she aimed to do the opposite. She wrapped herself around him, and he returned the gesture in full. They were a tangle of arms and legs, but he was happy to be enveloped so thoroughly.
“I don’t deserve ya, not even a little bit… I yelled at ya, and you’re the one comfortin’ me. That ain’t right.” His head dropped to her shoulder, the tingle of her fingers through his hair lulling him into a deep sense of ease. “I’m gonna make it up t'ya, I promise. And I ain’t gonna yell at ya again. Ever!”
His nose nuzzled into her, but it was his teeth that left a small mark two seconds later. It wasn’t a hard bite, but one that pinched enough to leave dents. It was silly, but he wanted her to know that nothing had changed. She was still his rival in their on-going bite war, his beloved human, his precious girlfriend whom he would go to the ends of any realm for.
“I love ya, Nic.”
"Eh. Ya need i’ more than me. Ain’ tha firs’ time someone in my life yelled a’ me, ain’ gonna be tha last.“ If nothing else, she felt a little better. Maybe it was just her need to make Mammon feel better than anything else, especially since he seemed so upset earlier. Granted, how upset he seemed even now still. "Mammon, ya know ya don’ need ta make nuffin’ up ta me, righ’? Ya already apologized.”
It’s with a small laugh that she just gives a small shake of her head, dismissing the notion of him needing to make up anything to her. The sweet gesture was quickly dashed when she felt him bite at her. He can’t see the pout, but surely he could feel it! “Hey!”
Turning, she bit into his shoulder as well. Nothing rough, but enough to leave her own little indent on him. In their own little moment of softness and gentle affection, she had forgotten their little war and he took advantage of her!
"I love ya too. Now how long do ya plan on sittin’ here holdin’ me an’ bitin’ me?“
“ YEAH, AND I’M STARVING … ”She admits that she hadn’t thought this far ahead. When Mari had agreed to Nicole come along on this investigation, she had done it thinking they’d be finished well before sundown. Having to explore and find their way out of this stony deathtrap well into the wee hours of the night certainly hadn’t been on her radar. In that case, there was no better a reason than now for her to have kept her jerky on hand.
“ Let’s take a rest. At the very least, a snack break. It probably wouldn’t be very smart for us to try and navigate this place in the middle of the night, either. We might be stuck here ‘til morning. ” Obviously, this was not Mari’s ideal place for a sleepover, but they probably didn’t have any better options unless they wanted to risk stumbling upon something even more dangerous than that aknosom, and in total darkness.
She can feel Ratha’s pull somewhere. He’s worried, and … drifting away? Perhaps he’s gone to get help? A nice sentiment, but not one that Mari favored; the last thing she wanted was to get more people involved in the mess these girls were in.
The rider searches through her pack again until she finds her satchet of jerky. She opens it up and offers a piece to Nicole. “ It’s not much, but its better than lying on an empty stomach. ”
"Mizuno.“ Gently calling her monstie back over as Mari gets her own jerky out, Nicole unwraps the other half of the fish sandwich she had prepared as a little day snack. Of course, the monstie stubbornly refuses it, wanting her to eat as well.
And with her own luck, Mari had offered her some. Looking to Mari with a small nod, then back up at her partner with a gentle, pleading look, he finally relents and eats the other half of it. If nothing else, she needed him to keep up his energy too. After ensuring he had eaten it, Nicole herself took a piece of jerky that was being offered.
”–Thanks, Mari.“ Eating at it, she kept a small listen out for anything aside from the three of them. Her eye sight might not be the best in the dark like this, but she could at least listen for things that shouldn’t be there.
As she finishes her piece, she finds her monstie who’s gotten as comfortable as he can make himself, laying down and curled up. Nicole herself moves his tail just enough to lay against his side, and use his tail as much of a blanket as she can.
”…Well, I can certainly say layin’ here wi’ somethin’ in me def feels a lot better than bein’ hungry.“
“Oh, I didn’t even notice until now — we’ve been in the character creator for a while.” The bleariness that clung to her eyes was blinked away, attention crystal clear and focused on the young woman beside her. “I think I might be done, but that was fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been about to put this many details into a character. What about you?”
"–I think I’m almost done…I’m stuck on tha hair color. I’m settled on tha eyes…bu’ tha hair color I like doesn’ work wi’ tha style I wan’. So I’m tryna make a buncha differen’ combos ta see if anythin’ works.“ At the very least, Nicole is enjoying her time with Chiaki. Whenever she starts a new game, the longest part of anything is creating her new character. But just like Chiaki, she genuinely hadn’t noticed how long they had been at it! "Wha’ do youse think?”
Yay! Thanks so much for taking the time to come and read my rules. I'll make sure to keep these as nice and sweet for you as possible.
HOUSE RULES HERE !!!
Mun.
I'm Mei Mei, and as of March 14th, 2020, I am officially 25 years old. Meaning I am of age for everything. However, given that I am uncomfortable with smut, there will be none of that present on this blog. Violence and other things are okay.
Following.
If for any reason, you think it's okay to invalidate someone's panic attacks, regardless if you think it should cause one or not: do not follow me. Everyone is different, everyone reacts to things differently. It is not your job to tell them what should and should not cause panic attacks. I do not want and will not tolerate you here.
I will only roleplay with people that I mutually follow. Its for me to keep my blog organized.
If I follow you, and you don’t follow back with in five days of your activity, I will unfollow. I’ll take it as you not being interested in wanting to speak with me so I won’t waste my time.
I will not RP with race-swapped characters. As an African American, I feel that my skintone has become nothing but an aesthetic on this site for people to seem woke. Not only that, but it heavily invalidates POC who might be of a lighter skin tone. That's not acceptable in any form or fashion. So, I will not accept whitewashing, but I will also not accept changing someone and just making them darker just for the hell of it. Either the character stays as they were in canon, or we ain't talkin'. OCs are an acception to this rule, of course.
Actually Rping.
If you’re an OC blog, I’m requiring that you have an About Page. I will not blindly jump into an rp without some basis of a character. And I mean more than their likes and dislikes. I need to know what to expect so I don’t get some Angel/Elf/Demon hybrid who is that cousin to Nicole that her daddy never told her about.
PLEASE ADDRESS MY CHARACTER DIRECTLY IN AN RP. I hate it when it’s left ambiguous. My character (if first interaction) wouldn’t know yours or have any reason to approach a stranger.
I DO NOT DO JEALOUSY RPS. What I mean by that is, if you see me writing with a canon character the same as yours, do not come at me. Example, if I start writing with a new Yumil, and you haven't responded to or reminded me of our thread in 10+ months, don't come at me as soon as I start talking to them. That's not cool. I don't appreaciate it, and 99.999% you will be ignored. There's a huge difference in actually wanting to continue a thread, and trying to claim and use me for clout and not give the new person a chance because you get insecure. I never thought I'd have to make this rule but it keeps happening and it's not sitting well with me.
It may be your blog but please.
Please keep your negativity to a minimum. The depressing posts are okay once in a while, I understand people get upset and need to vent. But please. When its every day over petty stuff because someone doesn’t rp with you or because someone else rps the same character, or someone posts something from a fandom you don't like, it annoys me. And immediate unfollowing will commence.
Tag your triggers. Blood, BDSM, whatever tickles your fetish fancy is okay, just make sure it’s tagged properly. However, spiders, needles, any form of sexual abuse, animal abuse, and that horror/scary text known as “zalgo” that people use for corruption, must be tagged as tw: trypo or just trypo. If it’s not tagged after me asking, I will unfollow.
MISC.
Hate will be deleted if sent. If you have an issue with me, talk to me privately or simply unfollow. Honestly, it’s not that hard. I'm an adult, you're an adult, if you give me the respect of one, I will do the same.
If you want anything from this blog, icons, renders, headcanons. Please ask before simply taking them. Its rude and I’m sure you wouldn’t want anyone doing it to you. Treat others the way you want to be treated. I have literally cropped all my icons on my own. Please for the love of God do not steal from me.
I AM NOT A MEME ARCHIVE. I am a believer in 'Reblog Karma'. However, I know many of you are not. And I will never force anyone to send me a meme. In that regard, if you're not going to send me a meme, please reblog it from the source so I don't feel like I'm being used.
If at ANY time I do something that upsets you or makes you uncomfortable, you are free to unfollow and block me. I will not hound you, I will not harass you for it. I would prefer it if we could talk things out beforehand, because there's a strong chance I don't even know I did anything wrong. However, I know some people just aren't comfortable with talking for fear of confrontation. I will respect that, I just ask that you give me that same respect in tandem.
BLOCK LIST.
You are free to ask me about my block list OFF ANON. I refuse to answer any anon messages about the matters of those who belong on my block list. I do not normally condone callout culture, but these people who I have linked callouts to and those who I have said I will block immediately, have proven time and time again to be abusive. They have wronged not only me, but a large majority of the RPC on this site with proven evidence of their toxic behavior.
Ollie (I will block IMMEDIATELY if I see him. There is no question about this. There is no changing my mind about him.)
Carly/Lexi/Andy/Rex (I will block IMMEDIATELY if I see her. There is no question about this. There is no changing my mind about her. Callout.)
Mars/Baron/Rocco/Mimi/Pippi/Maria ( Callout is right here. And it should go without saying I will not change my stance on them. )
Julie (Callout is here and I will block so fast if I see him on my dash. )

Based on locational regions and Pokémon Geograghpics, Nicole is going to be from the Unova region. Her occupation there is a Pokémon Breeder/Service Trainer (since they all seem to coincide with each other), seeing as they're right next to each other, and she was born in Lacunosa and moved to Virbank City. So she's a big fan of Roxie's music. Most of the Pokémon in her party are either from trading or being bred. Her main partner is her Swanna, whom she's met when she was leaving Driftveil City one day. Swanna, named Blythe is her first Pokémon and the start of her breeding career when she realized she both of them had a knack for helping out with small Pokémon and kids. Blythe is the most accustomed to her.
Nicole is part of a Breeder's association. To which she also helps in overseas trading. Because Nicole doesn't trust the care of eggs in maling systems, she personally delivers the eggs herself. Which means she has a pass to almost all regions. Her standard language is Unovan, with bits of others. She can speak enough to get around, but not much else. It's actually incredibly hard for her to hold a conversation unless the other participant speaks the same. Often when in a region that is not Unova, she's usually on a delivery and carrying an egg. Approach her with caution.
Like she, most of her Pokémon on hand who work with her, with the exception of Pancham, have adopted a caregiver type personality. It helps along with the job of either working with the baby Pokémon, or with the kids. Meaning if someone who's not supposed to be there comes up to or against one of the young ones she's watching, her Pokémon will attack relentlessly. Her style of battling is aggressive and fast. She prefers to use Pokemon that are high in speed. If she has a case like Kangaskhan or Liligant, then she makes use of a high defense, or status moves.
When it comes to the events regarding Team Plasma, this takes place in Black and White 2 (which should have been obvious by the mention of Virbank City.) So when Unova was being frozen over, she was busy keeping the kids and the Pokémon safe. During the events of the first game, she was still home and kept to herself where she was safe in Virbank. Team Plasma seemed to have missed their whole little side island during then.
Now being able to travel to Paldea, she has to leave a good portion of her team behind. As much as it pains her, she had to make the hard choice and actions in telling them they needed to stay behind. If nothing more than to help care for the ranch. She picked the most trustworth and able of her team. Leaving behind her whole team except for Wei. They would be the best when it comes to taking care of the babies and protecting the ranch from any and everything. Wei Shen is still a baby, and still needs constant supervision. So it's safer that Nicole take him with her.
Her team that she's getting to know in Paldea are an Indeedee, a Rockruff, a Corviknight, and a Toxtricity (Amped). Friend's she's bringing from Unova include Bridger (Wooper), and Wei Shen (Pancham). They're a ragtag bunch trying to get used to each other at the moment. Fights breakout occasionally and there is some tension. But she's working with all of them. The little Indeedee she's named Cyril, is almost taking Blythe's role in Galar. He's come to realize Nicole is a bit bad at taking care of herself, so he's taken up the mantle. A lot of the time he can be seen holding her hand and trying to get her to follow him to take care of herself. Bridger is the son of a lovely Quagsire she knows by the name of Skipper. So it's about time she took him out on the field and let him explore more too! She's getting used to her new friends, and so far she thinks she's making some solid strides with them!
This verse is a subverse of my main, default verse. This verse is an AU Roleplay I am having with Makoto Yuki.
In this verse, there is a battle going on. Every one thousand years, one hundred Mamodos (demons/mamono, in japanese) descend upon earth to conduct the ultimate battle. The winning Mamodo becomes the mighty king of the Mamodo world. There is only one problem - in order for the Mamodo to use their powerful spell books, they need a human partner. If his or her spell book is destroyed, the mamodo disintegrates and returns to the Mamodo world.
Nicole is not one of the prodigies spoken of in the series. There are only four of those. And she is also not one of the low ranking ones either. Due to her natural element being Psychokinesis, she is a comfortably high ranking Mamodo. However, finding a partner wasn't easy. Perhaps it was her brash nature, or how unwilling people were to adapt to her on a regular basis. Makoto Yuki, however, provided that emotional blank slate that she needed. It was able to resonate with her in turn, she was able to get a reaction out of him. A small spark of curiosity that allowed him to read her book, even though it was only the first spell.
The Coral Book
❢Psyshurido
❢Psymuarma
❢Psydoruk
❢Gigano Psyadom
The spells in order as listed are a shield, in which she will draw a circle with her hand in the air and form one. All of her spells are in the color of her book, by the way. So everything is done with a coral color to it. The second spell, is a weapon's spell. She makes two fists and slams them both together in front of her, and when she pulls them apart, slowly, the energy between them forms the weapon. The standard is a Halberd, but this can vary depending on the strength of not only her emotions, but more importantly, Makoto's emotions. Makoto's emotions are everything. They're what make her spells stronger than before. The third spell is a body enhancement spell. It lasts only thirty seconds, so they have to be smart about using it. The recoil time lasts the same as the duration time. The fourth spell, her strongest spell, is an expolosion. She summmons several spheres of etheral light that surround her and her opponent, and begin to connect at the points. They then combust whatever is caught in the center. The recoil from the spell by far takes the longest, and leaves not only her, but Makoto open for attack. So it's only used in emergencies, and used when they know it can finish the job.
We have already plotted out that Nicole will not win this Mamodo battle. We refuse to have her be any part of the canon, and this is a purely for fun AU. So she will be battling as one and against a bunch of the other unnamed Mamodo in the fight for the title of the King. At the end of the thread, her book will be burnt. When a Mamaodo's book is burnt, like it's explained in the beginning, the body is disintegrated and they are sent back to the Mamodo world. However, they do not regain their body upon returning. They are naught but souls once there, and will remain that way until the new King decides what to do with them.
Knowing this risk, Nicole still wanted to join the battle. Not only was she qualified, but she enjoyed a good bout of combat too. She didn't want to be King, too many rules and regulations and too much work for her to do on that. However, the thought of meeting a human, and establishing a life long eternal bond is something that struck her fancy. It was something that she dreamed about ever since she heard of it. More than anything, Nicole wanted to join the battle, simply to experience having a partner. And she got to have the full experience and growth in having Makoto as a Partner.
Hailing from the Fire Nation, Nicole is indeed a fire bender. However she’s not trained, and she’s not skilled in it. Her father is a soldier, her mother is a noble, and she does not believe in the war. Although because of her family status, she knows basic stances and is more adept at disarming her opponents and running away. However, what she is skilled in, is in the art of creating dyes. As red hair is not a normal hair color in the ATLA world, she’s using herself as an example of her fine wares, her natural hair color is dark brown, but she works on keeping that hidden from everyone else. She’s currently residing in the Merchant Town where she can get the most business. As of ATLA, no one there knows she’s a Fire Bender. She doesn’t use her bending at all unless she’s out foraging for materials by herself, and even then, she’s more prone to using her knife to cut things loose that she can reach. And once she makes enough of her product, she’ll trade for currency and more materials.
The reason why she’s living in the Merchant Town and hiding her bending status is because she doesn’t agree with the state of her home at the moment. By no means does she like the idea of trying to take other nations, and all that's doing is hurting people unneccessarily. She thinks it’s absolutely pointless and she believes in the Avatar and that he’ll save them all. Save the other nations from the Fire Nation, and the Fire Nation from itself. So she took a bit of her mother’s money, and left to go start her own business at the age of 17. She’s been working on her own for 2 years since the beginning of the series.
As she is living in the Earth Kingdom under the guise of a regular merchant, her name shall be “Ning”( Rest/Tranquility ). While she’s not ashamed of who she is at all, she knows that if the townsfolk were to discover who she was, she’d likely be run out of town or forced to leave out of fear. So she keeps herself hidden under the Alias of “Ning” and it helps her parents to not be able to find her, simply to believe she might be dead from foraging in the woods without any real survival training. Her true Fire Nation born name however, is 'Nao'. But friends can call her 'Nao Nao'.
The way the currency first worked for her before she got established in Earth Kingdom money, was that she took a stash of gold coins from her mother's collection to start her business. Buying the building and the materials she needed. (Vials, bottles, mixing tools.) Fire Nation money is accepted in the Merchant Town. While it is heavily questioned on how it's obtained, they accept it. Seeing as it's a town of trading, and all businesses are welcome. However she keeps a bit of the Fire Nation money. Just as a reminder of her home. However given that it's been two years already, she works with Earth Kingdom money through all business transactions.
During this verse, because I want Nicole to have no relevance to the story or anything of the sort, she is a mage from foreign seas. Just as Virion from Awakening comes from a different continent, so does Nicole. Her reasons for travelilng would to simply be to look for more books from her homeland, that were traded away, as well as to just be exposed to more culture than what she was getting back home. In short, she's still going to be basically like her main verse, searching for books on her abilities, except she's going to be in their timeline and have no techonology of the sort.
Because of her being from overseas, different customs, and even different kinds of magic. She can use, but will not be skilled in Anima magic (such as fire, wind, lightning), and even less experienced in dark magic. In this verse, her island is literally of Psychokinetics who train and prefer to stay to themselves, that way they avoid wars and things. They will help if called on, and will help when needed. But that's only after they've assessed the situation and figure they can handle the recoils that would come with aiding in someone else's problems.
Other than that, they are a secluded group of people who can generally only be found when they want to be found. Seeing as they have the capabilities to hide themselves from prying eyes. They are called the 'Mirage Island' for a reason. However because she left on her own volition and made open contact with others, she is not permitted to come back home because of outside influences. Fear of everyone being found, etc, etc.
She will have knowledge of what goes on in the games, but as custom of her people, she will stay neutral to it. Like all the mages, however, she will wear the tunic, and in the case of being a female mage, she will wear pants as opposed to the males who wear the skirts. It is also stated that a mage can die by using their magic too much. Which will work perfectly along with the recoils that the Psychokinetics can suffer from. As well as a mage can transfer their powers to another mage. However, it is extremely uncustomary for a Psychokinetic to do that unless its another Psychokinetic.
Given how Prince Leon can use Gravity magic (which makes her psychokinesis all the more possible in this), upon discovering that Nicole can use psychoknesis, instead of having her sent to the gallows for trespassing in Nohrian lands, he instead took her under his tutelage. She is to study the standard anima magic which she has been lacking in, and for his tutor, she will be teaching him psychokinesis. The Prince Leon she will be studying under will be specifically Alicia's Leon.
For Three Houses, Nicole is a Golden Deer. To piggy back off of her Fates verse, when the war between Nohr and Hoshido is reaching it's fever pitch and growing more dangerous, Leon chooses to send Nicole away. Of course she's highly upset about this given that Leon had promised her she could become one of his retainers. However, to protect her he sent her somewhere else. Across the seas where the war wouldn't reach her, and she could continue her studies in a safe space. She's registered as a commoner and that seems to be the house most accepting of them. She's made friends with Claude very easily given that both of them have that 'foreigner solidarity'. Claude is using her to a degree, someone of a foreign descent with abilities no one else in Fódlan has is a great asset to him. Even though he is using her, they're still really good friends at the end of the day, and Nicole has no issues with helping him achieve his goals. When the war does break out in Fódlan, Nicole has a bit of trouble deciding what she wants to do before deciding to ultimately help Claude. He's her friend and this place is important to him. She only makes him promise that he helps her stay alive so she can return home to Nohr. The Claude who will be her best friend and comrade is Alicia's Claude.
Based on looks and personality, for this verse, Nicole will be a Braixen. She's currently residing in Treasure Town where she works as a solo explorer. She's not a champion at it, and never tackles anything above a 2⭐ rank mission. Nicole is a rather lax Pokémon and doesn't really care to go out into the field much. Her main excuse is going to be that she needs Poké and that's the only reason she ends up going out half the time. Because of her flighty nature when it comes to exploring, she's labeled herself as an 'Assist' Pokémon. Where she can explore on her own, but most of her expeditions are her actually assisting others who's full team can't make it for some reason, or if they need an extra member to tag along. Even if it's something as simple as needing a fire type to tag along with, she's the one they call given her high level, her special attack, and her speed.
Nicole is a wandering mage at best, and a nuisance at worst. She’s definitely of the fire element, and a skilled wand user. Her sense of mana control is a little unstable, but powerful to a dangerous amount. Constantly working on mana control, Nicole has gone out from her tiny village in order to try and get better at it.
While incredibly strong, she can be a bit explosive. Temper flares, incredible downs, she can’t seem to decide whether the glass is half full or empty. In terms of fighting fiends, she’s more than capable of protecting herself. However because of her lack of control, she sometimes does more damage than what the fiends would have done. In that turn, she opts for running away from them instead.
Her running landed her in New Alberia where she was offered a home. Temporary or not, the Prince and his comrades offered her a place to stay and hopefully get better with control. Out of all the dragons, her best partnership is with Prometheus given they both have those explosive tempers and powers. It’s a ‘heal by example’ kind of partnership for them. Where in trying to help each other and show one another how to better handle something, they are in turn bettering themselves.
At best, in battle, she could be what an RPG class would call a ‘Bard’. For Dragalia, she’d be a combat Medic.

A Radiant Garden citizen, Nicole was a child there before the fall of the world. During that time, she was a child of magical prowess. She’s still a broken off piece of a star, she's a strange entity that adults seem to think it best she be raised among the other children. So she is still exceptional with her gift despite the backlash from it. Which is why when she had been separated from her adoptive family during the fall, it was Merlin who took her in and took her to safety. She was there with him in Traverse Town, except she ran small errands for him. By no means does Nicole not want to learn magic and such. However, she by no means wanted anything that would draw attention to herself, or draw the ire of the Heartless. So instead, she designated herself to errand girl for Merlin for the time being.
It was only when asked did she start training more and doing what she could to help train Sora and other Warriors of Light in magic.
Merlin isn't the worst caretaker in the world, but more often than not Nicole can be seen...not residing with him. He's nice enough to let her consistently use the bed, but the place is small, cramped, and she found herself fending on her own more often than not if magical studies weren't involved. Because of this, she'd taken up the previously mentioned title and job. Giving her every excuse to go any and everywhere she pleases. Within reason of his tasks of course.
For what it's worth and despite all of her complaints, Nicole’s magical prowess had grown extensively under his tutelage, and she can further help the Warriors of Light in their own magic training.
Daughter of an author who died, spent most of her life inside reading the stories he wrote, offering her own ideas and notions as one would do when hearing different things all day.
The notions of her death are foggy from memory lapses and overlapping story telling. How she recalls it as being chased by a large beast and being devoured. What had actually happened was she had died in an attack on her father and she was collateral as she was home at the time.
As someone born of stories and the tellings, she became the guardian of imagination. Meant to inspire and cause creation. To give ideas and see where people go with them.
She could easily be seen dressed as a scribe, much close to how she remembers her father. Whether it’s just a fabrication she’s come up with, or an actual memory, she can’t recall.
The power of her imagination is akin to that of an actual world. A place where she can send her conscious to. A world where she borrows and brings back from. Her familiars help with the carrying and transportation of those imaginative sparks. However given that imagination is expansive and ever evolving, the world in which she herself has to enter to bring forth the ideas for the mice to carry. The only fault with this is that it's incredibly easy for Nicole to start spiraling. Things can become terrifying, or she'll be so lost in it she either won't want to come out, or won't remember how to. For these reasons, she always prefers to be near someone. That person depending on if they can see her or not, will either pull Nicole out, or in another sense, tether her to keep her from going too far.
Her familiars can be seen as mice. They hear things, whisper things, carry things to and fro. What could be considered as bringing ‘sparks’ to people. Those sparks of imagination that depending on the person can either fizzle out or expand and become something new.
Can work along very well with others to collaborate and create new things. Such as exuberant nightmares, horrifying daydreams that can lead to things like famous horror movies or games or books etc. New fun things to do like a new game in the backyard, or a fantastic idea for a party. Imagination is a large spectrum and can go anywhere.
Nicole can be equated to the writer behind the script. You never see or think of her, but she’s always there.
No more than a few moons old at birth when adopted by a clan of Viera with naught but a name embroidered on the cloth that swaddled her. Raised among them as one of their own, Nicole knew of her own shortcomings compared to them. Simply thinking she was a bit different than her sisters or mothers, she took no extra thoughts to it. Her hair is made to resemble her ears, and while she cannot wear the same attire as they do or keep up with them as swiftly, she makes up for it in other ways. Her magical prowess gives her an advantage the others do not, allowing her to compensate for her lack of physical ability. (Editing is WIP for now)
Naira is a relatively new student at NRC. As a deuteragonist, she's not a hero or villain, someone who could play both sides given the right motivations. Such as betraying her friends out of sheer jealousy or anger. (Tink going to Hook because she was jealous of Wendy/Jane, her constant antagonistic acts towards her including trying to cause physical harm via proxy) As much as Kalim who could be an unwitting accomplice due to his oblivious nature. Very much someone who was hard to place due to that nature, upon hearing the state of Ramshackle, she begged to be sent there. For selfish reasons she's got no qualms about admiting! As a Tinker-Talent Fairy, there's nothing she loves more than creative problem solving. Her talent alone being descreibed as the 'best at fixing things' and dedicated workers, she began seeing Ramshackle as a pet project more than a living quarters. By all accounts she doesn't mind having a two for one student living there. No issues with them being her dorm leader either! In fact, so long as they allow her to do what she loves, there's no issue. Besides, mutual benefit, right? She gets to indulge in her favorite things, and they get a much better looking dorm to live in. Less holes, working appliances, they have their own live in handy-girl!
While she does hail from the Faeland like the other diurnal fairies that work in the school, her branch of fae are more akin to cousins to them, and more secluded than even they are. Her branch are born from a baby's first laugh, and while still powerful in their own rights, are much more fragile given their dependency on human belief. As such, they have their own island that they inhabit so everyone knows how to handle one another.
Given the nature of the fairies of Faeland, Naira is allowed a 2 week supply of Pixie Dust that she is made to make last a month. By no means are they going to rob her of something that her kind needs, but they want her to rely more on the magic pens they provide for better control, verses the unfiltered and raw power of the dust. So she is given a 2 week supply per month that she has to use sparingly. Meaning she is not flying everywhere, she is walking. (Although seeing as fairies are more used to flying than walking, she's quite clumsy while walking.) Thus her wings are usually kept folded down and made to look more akin to part of her outfit than an actual appendage. She can achieve a 'full size' to match that of the students, thanks to the generosity of their beloved Headmage. And some help from the Greater Wanded fairies. Usage of her Pixie Dust does however allow her to switch between that and the Fairy's signature stature of a mere 5 inches, the glow, and full flight capabilities. She is no bigger than a toy doll at that point however, and would very much like to be kept from being played like one!
Much to the chagrin of her professors, as intelligent as she is, Naira has a habit of skipping classes. Becoming so absorbed in her projects that she loses track of time. That, and a pension for sleeping when not working. Her habits, sad to say carry over from Pixie Hollow. Usually taking only small food breaks and when helping out other dorms with their own fixing needs, coming out quite filthy. She takes a long while to bathe since her wings are an issue at NRC with no Wing Washing-Talent fairies. Fairy wings absorb water like sponges and if left in deep enough water could pull the fairy under with their weight. She takes adamant and almost obsessive care of her wings to prevent any lasting damage to them or herself as a result of them. She will react very violently if threatened with water to the wings.

Merfolk have always made the little fairy uncomfortable, and that isn't about to change no matter how smooth talking and polite they are. Which...as kind as Azul has been to her, she actively felt bad for avoiding him and the entirety of his dorm. It was nothing against them personally, it was simply that Never Fairies don't have the best history with Mermaids, and by extension all Merfolk. Never Mermaids tend to be quie vain and treated fairies like dolls, or like they were beneath them. Generational trauma and fear have led this self same fairy to want little to no contact. However, after some apologies for her unfair behavior over tea and cookies, she seems to be slowly coming around. At the very least, to Azul. As different as the two of them are, they seem to share a similar mindset when it comes to personal preferences. Plus...with him running a lounge, there's always things that need to be fixed, right?
So vampires are real, and this one is a murderer. An eldritch being who would give nightmares their own nightmares. In all aspects, Nicole isn't truly sure why he hadn't scared her upon introduction. Seeing a guy literally come through a bookcase she had been perusing should have been horrifying. But maybe because she had been going through a rather graphic novel at the moment, he seemed almost tame compared to what she had been vividly imagining. Small chats here and there became long talks where it seemed like he was seeking her out at times. They've developed a bit of a bond where it seems like Alucard is actually fond of her. He's taken consideration into making sure he's not hungry when visiting, and even small stuff such as just asking her how her day was. He's seemed to really take on the role of that uncle who visits occasionally. It's nice.
Gamer Girl Solidarity at it's finest. Saying that she is a fan of the Ultimate Gamer would be an understatement. When Nicole came on to the scene as a gamer and started making names for herself, working her way to 'Ultimate' status had become something of a goal. What is a gamer if not someone who constantly strives to get higher and higher scores? Nicole, AKA 'Cola', loves playing and uploading her videos and streams. What she wasn't aware of was that Nanami watched. That upon meeting and befriending each other, Nanami considered her an Ultimate Gamer as well. It was like a dream come true to be recognized by her. Not just that, she's a really chill girl who Nicole genuinely enjoys spending time with. Maybe she'd be down for a Pokemon battle later...
This guy is great! He's funny, he's actually pretty neat to talk to, and he makes Naira feel very welcomed. Plus, he's agreeing to let her work on his Blastcycle(whatever that is)! Maybe it's because he reminds her so much of her own clumsy back home, but the fairy finds herself drawn to Deuce regularly. She enjoys his company and seeing what kind of things he, Ace, and the Prefect manage to get themselves into. She cannot deny the joy she gets in seeing Deuce try to explain things to her. Whether he does it with gusto or with flustered stutters, it's always a treat! Naira hopes that Deuce won't mind her sticking around more often than not. Besides, accompanying him means she gets access to the gardens. And while not a garden-talent fairy...it reminds her of home. He helps remind her of home too, and she hopes he understands.
The charter of the Cast Tech district, her direct rival, and her big brother. (Self proclaimed) Being a new member of NSR is vastly intimidating for her. While there are members younger than her, they're also more successful. And then of course there are the adults who have been doing it longer. It's leaving her feeling some sort of limbo and being stuck in place, only adding to her anxities. Cola wants to do better, and in that degree she started shadowing and clinging to the DJ. His insults and taunts soon became less and less antagonistic the more she hung around. Even once getting him to call her 'sis' back. Despite the large age gap between them, with the DJ literally being old enough to be her dad...he's her brother. It makes having a rivalry while clinging to him for support a lot easier.
Its a sad day for Naira. She wants so badly to get to know the students of Octavinelle. However...due to generational trauma and issues with the mermaids back home...she finds herself very hesitant to approach any of them. She's been making strides and efforts, simply repairing things for them and having conversations here and there with them. The fairy thinks things are getting better, she's actually able to talk to them! Although, talking to Floyd is a lot harder than the others. He's a wild guy and trying to peg his moods are hard. Sometimes he's kind to her, sometimes he's looking for any excuse to cause chaos. Other times...he's actually defensive of her, in that Floyd way of his. So far though...everyone here has been better than the Merfolk back home. Maybe they're not all bad. She hopes her budding friendship(?) with Floyd would help quell more of her fears and anxieties.
A very strange man who began hunting her down with intent to kill. Absolutely no idea what she had done, or why he, along with two strange beasts were chasing her. She didn't know when he realized it, but he apparently caught on she wasn't controlling them, and had been running. Grateful didn't even begin to describe how she felt when he realized it before he mistakenly killed her. She still is unsure as to why he's even here, or why he was now following her around and not leaving her side...but the company is now welcome? By no means could Nicole make him leave on her own. So it's best to just wait until this guy found what he was looking for. Besidse, if he was going to kill her...he would have done it already, right? At least he's indulging her in her little habits and hobbies for the time being. He can be a good babysitter when he wants to be, she'll give him that!
Neither of them know how many times they have to tell people, but they're not dating! They totally just do normal friend things. Like cuddling and watching movies, kissing each other scars or going on dates, but not those kinds of dates! Link is a rather chaotic entity of a being that Nicole affectionally calls her bestie. Both of them were social outcasts in school, and bonded over literally everything. More often than not, Nicole is Link's impulse control and voice of reason. He's the one who brings her out of her shell slightly and gets her to go on new endeavors. She cheers him on at his boxing matches and helps him train. Just best friend things. Both of them have a silent understanding of each other, where not all the time are words a necessity for them. Although...Link seems to know what she needs before she even notices it. He's always been extremely observant and she's grateful to him. As wild as he can be, she wouldn't change a single thing about him and adores him for who he is.
This greedy demon was the one first assigned to essentially be a babysitter to her when she entered the Devildom. In all honesty, Nicole liked Mammon from the start. He's a fun, friendly guy who can be a little cocky at times, but never actively tries to make her feel less than or feel stupid. And after observing his interactions with his brothers, she can see why. Still anxious around them for the most part, she's getting better at complimenting him admist the insults and teasing, or trying to cheer him up afterwards. This leads to plenty of movie and video game sessions. And sometimes games just between the two. Little wand fights, planning trips, and of course, their little bite war. She never anticipated the bite war ending with them confessing to each other, but they're dating now. Albeit extremely awkwardly, it's still very loving.
By far, Mari is one person Nicole will never be able to properly express gratitude towards. From constantly making sure she's safe, to introducing her to her new best friend, Mizuno. It was actually astounding to Nicole how much Mari had paid attention to what she liked, and then actually sought out an egg for her! While Nicole absolutely loves and adores Mari, the bleeding heart she has is going to be the death of both of them. It's a little hard for her to understand where Mari's lack of care for her own being comes from. Saving people is fine, wanting to keep those around you is fine. But...Mari herself is going to burn out. She flies far too close to the sun for Nicole's comfort.
A shy guy who also resides in Shibuya! Nicole has never really conversed with the students of Shujin Academy, but she was never against it. Mishima is a sweet boy she has the pleasure of knowing. Someone who genuinely cares about those he comes into contact with. Albeit a bit of a pushover at times, still a very caring guy. Because of his rather bashful nature though, Nicole has taken the mantle of 'rowdy big sister', so to speak. Meaning if she feels Mishima is being bullied, she'll make her presence and displeasure known. The two frequent playing games together and studying with each other. Nicole wants to encourage Mishima to continue doing his best.
Abel's girlfriend. Nicole absolutely adores Neff. There's a lot of insight she offers, the good ol' sisterly bonding in terms of tormenting each other. Joining together to ruin Abel's day and talk about half the shit he does? Nicole is pretty sure Neff is the sister she's always dreamed of. To say the two simply get along is an understatement. Watching the two of them interact, one would have assumed they've been joined at the hip since birth. She hopes to continue having Neff around for a long time.
A kid with worse attitude issues than her. Nicole has no idea why he's so angry with her, but he is. Part of her genuinely cares and wants to see if she can help and make it better, but another part of her cares nothing for him. Why should she bother caring, or being nice to someone who's done nothing but insult her? By all accounts, her Mr. H seems to adore him. So Nicole wants to make an effort to be nice to him. Yet...the way he seems to just mindlessly hate her think it's going to be an impossible task. Maybe she should give up on him.
This poor man that her Pancham decided was a thief and tried to fight him. Albeit the Pancham is still a baby and not as violent he could be? Nicole still felt awful about the little altercation. In turn she decided to invite him and his Pikachu to the ranch where she works. He's quiet, exceedingly quiet to the point he uses alternate means of communication. She's thinking he's a selective mute, but has no issues. Red will speak when he's comfortable, and communicate how it best suits him. His Unovan is pretty good for the bits she has heard! Maybe she can hear more if he spends more time with her on the ranch.
The inner machinations of his mind are an enigma. That's possibly the best way she can describe him. Sho appears to be one of Hanekoma's friends? He's always in the shop. His visiting focus turned from her dad to her however. Showing up in the shop when he's not home, and climbing through her window. As disturbing as it is, he seems only interested in being a nuisance and having company. Resigning himself to simply getting comfortable among her stuffed animals and chatting until he grows bored and leaves. However he has started opening up to her recently, this means he trusts her, right? Hopefully he continues to find solace in her company. Recently he has confessed to loving her. While completely unknowledgable as to how he had gone from picking on her to loving her, she's fine with this development and still gives him the same care and attention as before.
A really mean student at NRC! Vil has this way of speaking and jargon that makes Naira feel like an absolute idiot at times. Or sometimes Vil will employ a manner of conversation that manages to rile her up on a regular basis! And yet, Naira finds herself going right back to him. Whatever the reason, she did. Maybe it was his regal air that reminded her of her own queen? Was it his strict yet caring manner? A hidden gentleness that was akin to her own mother? Vil is an extremely complicated person Naira has trouble pinning down. However, she knows this. Should Vil ever call on her, she would do what she could to assist him and make sure he's as taken care of as he appears to do for others. More lately than not, she finds herself seeking comfort among the queen. He's quick to point out when she's filthy of course and impliment more of those Clumsy grooming skills he has. She will admit, she feels prettier when he helps her learn something new and actually use the skills he teaches her.
This city boy she met visiting the countryside. A Tokyo resident herself, she understands just where Yousuke comes from, his sense of humor, and everything. It was just a kind of city vibe and style that people in the country didn't get! At the end of her visits, going back to Shibuya was always a nightmare because the party had to stop, so to speak. Nicole likes his company a great deal. And to say she worries for him would be an understatement. She hears the things people say about him, half the time to her. But the Yousuke they have gripes about and the Yousuke she witnesses in how he interacts with everyone is vastly different. Nicole cares and refuses to let anyone speak ill of him while she's around.
She met Zen when he first joined an MMO that she frequented. Of course saving him from a pack of high level enemies he managed to aggro...and then subsequentially sticking by him, encouraging him, and just in general, being a good veteran player to someone who didn't even think they'd stick around. Much to both of their surprise, he actually did stay. He immediately gets online and seeks her out. And as of late, Nicole found herself doing the same thing. From waiting for each other online, to actually exchanging numbers, Nicole can easily say she loves spending time with him. Oh dear, she hopes she's not being too forward with it. She doesn't want to admit any kind of potential crush until she can gauge how he feels more. Possibly never, as they live in different countries. He's a good guy, really fun to talk to, and she doesn't want to scare him away or ruin that. But she cannot deny how happy he makes her when they spend time together.
"I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my legs. And every afternoon I break my arms. At night I lie awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep."

Nicole is broken off piece of a star. She knows not who she truly is, simply that she is a 'human' being that was found at infancy. No one exactly knows where she came from, only that this infant was found alone after a meteor shower. Growing up, other than the occasional 'Dream Walking' incident, Nicole was a fairly normal child. As she got older, she became very well aware that her psychokinesis isn't common to those around her. An oddity at best in her mind. For the most part, she simply wants to live as normal as she can with her adoptive family.
Nicole is a student currently, with a pretty bad addiction to video games. The addiction to video games comes from her loneliness growing up, seeing as she was homeschooled for the most part. On a subconcious level, the addiction to video games is her trying to read and see stories. A rather active imagination, it's constant stimuli that she can not only hear, but interact with. She still loves to curl up with a good book every now and then as well! Stories tend to help her feel something akin to a connection and some level of grounding. Because of this, she'll indulge in her hobby as often and as much as she can, even seeking ways to profit. So what she does is run her own Youtube Channel under the alias 'Cola'. Which results in a lot of cute soda related puns and various soda nicknames. Her channel is lots of longplays, walkthroughs, 100% completions, bonus content, and easter eggs. No one sees her face as it is given that she has a commissioned drawn avatar. Anthony, her brother figure, has been kind enough to do her intros and outros for her. It benefits both in terms of exposure!
She does everything in gaming except rhythm and FPS. Nicole does have a bit of a big bias to JRPGs, and that even extends to mobile ones like Dragalia Lost, Twisted Wonderland, and Kingdom Hearts Unchained X. Which in exchange began her interest in Gacha games. She has gotten art drawn for her by fans that she featrues in her videos when she gets sent new ones. Usually of her drawn avatar, or her in game character holding a non labeled soda. (She told them never include labels cause she does no free ads.) 'Cola' is one of the big wigs in the gaming community on youtube. She knows it. They know it. It's why she keeps her face hidden so she doesn't get bombarded on the street. But this is a great way for her to get story telling out, by sharing ones already written, and injecting her own theories, saying how she'd write something different for a new perspective, and so on and so forth. Nicole does have sponsors and she advertises for them through product placement on her drawn avatar. Her fans know what it means since she's adamant on no free ads, and she'll usually tell them who she's being sponsored by. It's a great second source of income along side her job at the cafe.
There was always a known fact of her being different, and out of fear of being bullied, her guardian kept her home and simply taught her themself. To their credit, Nicole is actually very intelligent and was able to do well on entrances tests into college and work on getting a degree there. The downside of being homeschooled is that she was so isolated from everyone, she's extremely socially awkward. Her insecurities are heavily prevelant, plus a bit of a lisp that makes communication more difficult than it needs to be, and to be honest, she'd rather just stay home all the time than go out.
Because of her extreme social awkwardness that she chooses to harden herself as much as possible. No one can know she cares about them or her opinion of her. It would give them too control, and due to being bullied at a young age (which only furthered her isolation), she'd rather not give anyone that power anymore. Also being taught that people matter and everyone's feelings are valid to a degree, she's got a strong sense of empathy too. Her attempts to protect herself also saves against people who would manipulate that. Not well, but it's an attempt. So she's not seen as weak, so she's not so easily hurt by everyone else around her. At least she still helps people, even begrudgingly. Besides, if it turns out she's wasting her efforts, at least she got to yell at someone for the day.
On top of being tough as nails (self proclaimed), Nicole has the unnatural ability to move things with her mind. This is called Psychokinesis.
The way hers works comes down to science. Everyoine's brain gives off little action potential, otherwise known as electrical impulses. This action potential causes the release of neurotransmitter at a point where the two cells are very close to each other called a synapse. The downstream postsynaptic cell receives the neurotransmitter signal and converts it into a small electrical signal. If enough of these small electrical signals happen in a short time, they sum together and are likely to initiate an action potential in the second cell and the cycle repeats all along the circuit.
What she does, is take those impulses and amplifies them to the point they no longer work on just her body, but those things around her. Specifically to manipulate the cells of an object, or the space around said object. She can harden the air to form a shield, or to lift something off of the ground. She could turn a chair into a baby duck by changing the structure and order of its cells. Her potential to be great is literally limitless. She can even give herself immortality by slowing down her cell growth, and by reversing the ages of some to keep her young and healthy.
The amplification of the electrical impulses can harm her. The bigger the amplification, the worse the pain. Using her ability causes the lining of her brain to begin swelling, which can cause headaches, dizziness, nausea, numbness, lethargy, loss of coordination, and among other things. To prevent this, she sleeps. Her body forces her to sleep off the swelling, and she won't wake up until its back at a stable state, which can range from a couple of hours, to a couple of months, depending on how big of a charge she had to use.
Preperations are made when she knows she's going to be using them. Such as when she goes to study the old books on psychokinetics. Those books are written in a language that can only be translated by them, by heightening the part of the brain that allows understanding. And rearranging the structure of the symbols into the language she knows best. To do that, she changes bits and pieces of her glasses, so that they'll automatically be translated upon reading. The way she keeps herself safe during these times is by making sure all windows and doors are locked, she leaves enough food and water out for her dog, rat, and her bunnies to eat and drink during the time. When she's done studying and taking notes on everything, she goes to sleep right after.
Her abilities are as follows, but not limited to (please read the super power wiki):
Most times I will mention Nicole using special pages or special books to read. Those languages are only able to be deciphered by psychokinetics by my definition. There is no set story around her, but the concept of her special usage of the ability is a concept that I came up with. Therefore no one else besides her or NPCs that I introduce are able to understand it.
Some quirks and things about Nicole's now personality. She's a bit rough around the edges while being nothing but melted marshmallow on the inside. Basically a toasted marshmallow. She cares so much it physically hurts her at times and she has to spend time away from others in order to recuperate. Because of this nature, she tends to come off as a brat at times in order to keep people at bay.
Despite being a brat, Nicole is definitely more of a sister type of person. Literally just the definition of a sister. She can be the big one, should muses be the same age or younger than her. Sort of like a guardian figure and offering advice and comfort when possible. Or simply be a younger sister. Fitting more into her bratty nature and desire to be pampered and adored. Nicole is the kind of person who can fill all sorts of sisterly roles no matter which situation she's placed in and no matter who she's with.
